Best practice

To maximise year-round energy efficiency and comfort, our window sashes are thicker than the Australian Standard. This makes the best use of the natural insulating properties of timber and allows us to house larger double-glazed units comfortably and securely.

Window types

We make all our windows according to the individual specifications of each customer, using rough sawn timber that permits design flexibility and a perfect fit for the style and performance requirements of your home.

For double and single glazing, we offer a wide range of glazing options, including ‘low-e’ glass where less heat passes through, patterned and decorative glass, and switchable glass.

Common window styles include:

  • Double-hung window: this timeless window is the cornerstone of traditional timber joinery. We offer both traditional weights and pulleys, and modern counterbalance systems.
  • Awning window: practical awning windows can be kept open in all weather, allowing fresh air to flow into the home even when it’s raining.
  • Casement window: popular for both traditional and contemporary projects, elegant casement windows provide excellent air flow control, capturing breezes and enabling cross-ventilation.
  • Sliding window: a classic and elegant look with the benefits of unobtrusive opening and minimal moving parts.
  • Timber-framed sashless units: modern sashless units maximise visible daylight and views while enabling fresh air flow.
  • Bi-folding and kitchen servery windows: fully maximising available openings, bi-folding windows create the illusion of space and make for beautiful and functional servery windows.
  • Custom-made, timber-framed insect screens are also available.
